Established in 1977, the Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan is a nonprofit and community-based organization.

Women's Resource Center of Northern Michigan

Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM) services and programs provide a multitude of specialized, quality services for adults, children, and families to improve their lives through personal growth, empowerment, and lifelong learning.

For more than 40 years, the agency has expanded programs and services in response to unmet needs in the community. In addition to excellent services, WRCNM is recognized as a strong voice for promoting respectful, healthy, and nonviolent relationships.

Obtaining safe housing and the economic resources to maintain safety are significant challenges for women and their family members experiencing domestic abuse.

The Safe Home provides a secure, caring, and supportive place for survivors to heal from the emotional and physical pain of domestic abuse and regain control in their lives. Over the years, thousands of women and their family members seeking refuge have been provided shelter, meals, and all their daily needs at no cost.
