Ralph C. Ware died peacefully at home in San Antonio, TX.
Ralph “Mike” spent ninety-three years loving the Belvedere Club. He owned cottage #135 from 1960-1985. Later he took ownership of his family’s cottage #212 until it was sold in 2010. Sailing on his Dad’s boat, the Frolic, playing tennis and fishing were all part of his fondest memories. Mike was also involved in community activities in Charlevoix. He was a lay reader for Christ Episcopal Church and a Lifetime Member of the Charlevoix Rotary Club.
Charlevoix Michigan Oral Traditions (charlevoixlibrary.org)
Hear stories of Charlevoix’s history and memories from our veterans (mostly of WWII) in this collection of thirty interviews with local elders. Charlevoix Oral Traditions was made possible through a generous donation from Peter and Julie Cummings in September 2007, to honor Edith Gilbert’s 90th birthday. Edith Gilbert, a long-time local activist for the arts, conducted two interviews, as well as being interviewed herself. Videographer was Rick Pierpont of Pierpont Productions in Harbor Springs, MI.
